Commerce Hub is a brand new add-on software suite within HubSpot’s CRM platform, helping online retailers streamline their opportunity to revenue process and get paid faster, increase revenues, and save time. Commerce Hub works directly with HubSpot CRM and the other HubSpot hubs, helping you to manage payments, create invoices, set up and manage payment links, and deliver quotes for both one-time and recurring purchases.
Whether you’re just starting your e-commerce enterprise or are looking to scale your business, Commerce Hub has the tools and insights you need to drive sustainable growth.
The need for a unified e-commerce solution becomes starkly evident as your business grows. Using disparate tools, payment platforms, and billing processes can create data silos, leading to poor inventory management, missed opportunities, and inconsistent customer experiences.
HubSpot’s Commerce Hub is designed to meet all the specific needs of e-commerce businesses in the B2B as well as the B2C sector, and caters equally well to businesses of all sizes, from the smallest start-up to large, established businesses. This is important, because a lot of modern cloud-based e-commerce platforms are implicitly geared towards small-scale B2C customers.
HubSpot’s Commerce Hub transforms your CRM into a ‘hub’ in the truest sense of the term; a central place from which to manage all aspects of your e-commerce business, from marketing and sales to customer service, billing, subscription management, inventory, advertising, website content, and more.
By consolidating all the administrative, promotional, and creative aspects of your business into a unified platform, Commerce Hub reduces the need for multiple subscriptions and software logins. This reduces your overheads, streamlines your workflows, and boosts productivity.
Commerce Hub is the new kid on the block in HubSpot terms, hitting the UK market on 28th May 2024 (after its US release in September 2023). However, if you’ve used HubSpot before, many of the tools in Commerce Hub will already be familiar to you, such as automated billing, the product library, payment links, and HubSpot payments. What HubSpot has done is integrate a range of pre-existing tools that were previously hidden in its other hubs, making them easier to access for dedicated e-commerce businesses.
There are also several new and enhanced tools included into the new hub. These include integrated flexible payment processing, allowing you to collect money from customers within the HubSpot CRM using your Stripe account. For customers that already use Stripe, this gives them access to all the Commerce Hub tools without needing to switch payment processes, saving significant time.
Users can also use Commerce Hub to create native invoices from CRM contacts, deals, quotes, or companies, with each invoice pulling in the associated object information from your CRM records to speed up the sales process and reduce the risk of errors. Subscriptions and recurring payments can also be managed and billed within HubSpot Commerce Hub.
Invoices paid through HubSpot payments or Stripe are automatically updated on your CRM, but can also be updated as paid manually if you receive payment by external means, such as PayPal or bank transfer. This gives your business greater flexibility over how customers are billed, as well as allowing extensive automation of your billing process through the CRM.
Commerce Hub is an optional add-on service that uses a pay-as-you-go model with a charge levied for each transaction you collect through the Commerce Hub. There are no hub-specific tiers or subscription packages, with many features accessible to HubSpot Free CRM users. However, some tools are restricted to premium HubSpot users, e.g. you must have a Starter+ subscription to use HubSpot payments, and a Pro+ subscription to use custom billing automation.
